A Union of Promise celebrates America’s efforts to rise from the ashes of the Great Depression in 1939 with hopes of a better and brighter future. Using the 1939 World’s Fair in New York City as a reference point for that shift, Tim Huhn shows the advancements in technology for both agriculture and industry moving forward together for the prosperity of the American family. Industrial America is represented here by Pennsylvania Railroad’s S1 Locomotive, the largest of its kind ever built, as designed by Raymond Loewy. American agriculture saw groundbreaking advancements as Ford and Ferguson unveiled the N-series model tractor that changed the industry standard, boasting components that are still used to this day.
