Ralph Gorton - Gallery Founder
After assembling one of the largest privately held collections of Patrick Nagel's artwork, Ralph opened the gallery in September of 1984. Parlaying that body of work into the foundation of the gallery, Ralph has hosted 85 gallery shows and exhibits. While he's had 34 successful years in the art business, it's his three children that he's most proud of; McKinley, Rainier and Kili, all named after mountains he's climbed. Ralph is an avid mountain climber and hiker who always says "Train to Climb, Climb to Train" so if you see him coming up Cerro San Luis, good luck keeping up!
Ken McGavin - Gallery Director
Having bought his first piece of art at the age of 11, Ken credits his family with his lifelong love of art. Since graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Ken has managed the marketing and sales of Just Looking Gallery for the past 14 years. Having directed 23 gallery exhibitions, including the largest posthumous exhibition of the famous 1980’s Playboy artist Patrick Nagel, Ken has been focused on representing work that he sincerely believes in and jokes that he is his best customer. Signing each of his letters with the salutation of "Art Saves Lives" Ken believes that art has the ability to bridge gaps and connect people.
Stephen Taylor - Custom Framer
After moving to the Central Coast in 1977, Stephen took his first job as a custom art framer in 1978. His attention to detail and craftsmanship as a custom framer is only half of what our customers love about Stephen, he's also a wonderful cartoonist and often decorates the wrapping on customer pieces with his clever cartoon characters. As an avid hiker, Stephen has completed the Pacific Crest Trail multiple times as well as the Continental Divide and the hiking circuits of Annapurna and Everest.
